Jose M. "Chacho" Acevedo, Jr., 75 of Grandview, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2008 in the Grandview Nursing Home. He was born to the late Jose Acevedo, Sr. and Tereza Lozano Acevedo on April 4, 1933 in Hebbronville, Texas.

Chacho was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved to work outside with the animals, planting and gardening. He retired from Varo Semi Conductors after 20 years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Aurora Acevedo of Grandview; his daughter, Elda Acevedo of Venus; his sons, Mario Acevedo of Grandview, David Acevedo of Grandview, and Joe Acevedo and his wife, Diana of Hebbronville, Texas; his sister, Sylvia DeLeon and her husband, Felix of Pharr, Texas; his brothers, Ramiro Acevedo of Freer, Texas, Robert Acevedo of Garland, and Ray Acevedo and his wife, Hazel of Queens City, Texas; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; numerous step-grandchildren & great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers and by his parents.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Maypearl Cemetery under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 28, 2008 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
