| Birth: | 1929, USA | | Death: | Dec. 5, 1962 New York, USA |  Bob Sexton graduated from Iona Grammar School in 1943 and then went on to Iona Prep where he played on the undefeated Prep football teams of 1946 and 1947. He attended Villanova University and then transferred to Iona College where he completed his degree in 1953. He returned to the Prep where he taught English and coached the football, baseball, and swimming teams. His 1961-'62 swimming team went undefeated and won the Metropolitan Championship. He had a congenital heart defect and died during open heart surgery at age 33. The "Most Typical Ionian" award is named for him.
