Mary Botsford Afflerbach of Holland, Pa., passed away on Monday, October 20, 2008 at her residence. She was 95 years of age.
She was the beloved wife of the late Francis D. Afflerbach.
Born in Blevens, Arizona, she was the daughter of the late Arthur E. and Eltruda Mosteller Botsford and mother of the late Mark Afflerbach.
Mrs. Afflerbach married the love of her life in 1936.
During World War II, she worked at the Frankford Arsenal in Philadelphia, Pa. with her husband.
She and her husband, Frank, raised their 8 children in Philadelphia and Bucks County. Once her younger children were all in school, she went to work at the Educational Testing Service in Princeton, NJ. In 1975, she moved her family to Fresno, CA. and worked there for the Thomas Snell Law Firm until her retirement at the age of 72. In 1985, Mary returned to Bucks County.
Following her return, Mary was an active volunteer for many years at the Lower Makefield Library, and, for the past 23 years, she also volunteered at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, Pa. where she was honored for her valuable service to others.
Mary was a bright and insightful woman; she was also an avid reader, traveler, a loy fan of the Phillies and Eagles, and she also enjoyed listening to classical music.
Mary will be sorely missed as a dearly loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and volunteer.
Mary is survived by her loving and devoted children, Michael and his wife Donna, Carol Vale, Genevra Berger and her husband, Brian, Sara Davis, Nancy Coughlin and her husband, Jack, Janet Herbert, and Connie Lynch and her husband Frank. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Interment will be held privately.
