Dies in Garden City


Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in Boise for Mrs. Nellie Iona Porter 76 of 411 E. 46th. Who died Thursday at her home.
The Rev. LaVerle Baldwin officiated and burial was at Peaceful Valley near Marsing.
Mrs. Porter born at Spruce, Mo. Aug. 26, 1884 and came to Silver Creek with her parents when 13.
She was married to Andrew Porter in Arco Dec. 31, 1901 and they moved to Gate, Okla shortly after their marriage. They came to the Boise Valley in 1910. Mr. Porter died in 1951. She was a member of the Follower's of Christ church.
Her survivors include five sons, Chester of Gannett, Sylvester, Oregon City, Ore., Amos of Grants Pass, Ore., and Andrew and Evard both oaf Boise; seven daughters; Mrs. Garnett Farrens and Mrs. Ona Kester both of Cambridge, Mrs. Nettie Eells, Caldwell and Mrs. Hazel Broadie, Mrs. Iva Borgeman, Mrs. Opal Eells and Mrs. Emeral Prescott all of this area; two sisters Mrs. Bessie Berends, Marsing and Mrs. Nettie Anderson, Caldwell; 87 grandchildren and 99 great-grandchildren.
