SERVICES: Memorial service 11 a.m. Wednesday in Faith Lutheran Church in Hoyt Lakes with the Rev. Donna Olsen officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Internment will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora.
Diane L. Carr, 62, of Hoyt Lakes, died Friday, May 1, 2009 in the Skilled Nursing Facility of the White Community Hospital in Aurora. She was born March 19, 1947 in Fosston, Minn., to Lowell and Ruth (Lundmark) Holmgren. Diane was a graduate of Bagley High School and also of Winona State Teachers College. She taught elementary school in Janesville, Minn., and later worked for an optician in Mineral Wells, Texas.
Diane later attended Eveleth Vo-Tech for nursing and worked as a certified nursing assistant at the White Community Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility. On May 13, 1989 she married Michael Carr in Hoyt Lakes.
Diane was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and enjoyed cooking and sewing.
Survivors include her husband, Michael, of Hoyt Lakes; daughters, Maggie Carr of Hoyt Lakes and Debbie (Mike) Zenner of St. Paul Park; brothers, Jon (Marilyn) Holmgren of Rapid City, S.D., and Jerry (Cindy) Holmgren of Hoyt Lakes; stepdaughters. Gina (Sean) Carr-Scallon of Arkansaw, Wis., and Andrea Oueslati of Kenosha, Wis.; stepson, Chris Carr of LaGrange, Ga.; grandchildren, Morgan, Miranda, Cierstin, Eirwyn and Reif Carr, Amanda, Kevin and Kyle Zenner.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
