Glen D. Adler, 90
Father of Lora J. Penn of Bluffton, Glen D. Adler, 90, died at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 28 at his rural Decatur residence.
Born Oct. 20, 1912 in Adams County to Fred J. and Iva M. Olwin Adler, he was a lifelong resident of Kirkland Township.
He owned and operated Adler Brothers Garage for over 50 years and was a member of the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany and France with the 638th Tank Destroyer Brigade.
His marriage on Dec. 10, 1948 was to Vera L. Wulliman, who died June 20, 2001.
In addition to the daughter in Bluffton, he is survived by two sons, Bradford Adler of Willshire, Ohio and Neal O. Adler of Lovel and, Colo. Also surviving are five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren with Rev. Norman Replogle officiating and burial in the church cemetery with special military graveside services.
Calling will be Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Calling also one hour prior to services at the church..
