Clayton Adams was killed on Biak Island off the coast of New Guinea during the Second World War. He was buried temporarily on the island was then sent back to the United States to some unknown location. These temporary burial sites were called “Tell me about my boy.” Finally 3 years later his body was sent home to the Middle Creek Cemetery. His father, John W. Adams (1881-1970) and his mother, Birdie Adams (1885-1960) lie to the right/south of their son.

Added by Joan Bartz:

"Whitey" was my dad's best friend and they entered the service at the same time. They had vowed to stay together, but my dad went into the Army whereas Whitey's choice ensured that he would be sent to the Pacific theater. He was shot by a sniper soon after arriving there. (I had never known that he was originally buried elsewhere.)

He also is a distant cousin on my mother's side of the family. His father and my maternal great-grandmother (Bessie E Adams Thompson) were brother and sister.
