| Birth: | Nov. 22, 1843 | | Death: | Oct. 10, 1910 |  Civil War Union Army Soldier. He was the son of Leonard Abbott and Ainsley Abbott, and was living in Clayton, Gloucester County at age 16 circa 1860.
He was mustered in as a Private in Company H, 7th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry on November 7, 1861. He re-enlisted on January 4, 1864, received a promotion to Corporal on March 1, 1864, and was transferred to Company A at an unrecorded date. On February 1, 1865 he was advanced to Sergeant, and was honorably mustered out on July 17, 1865.
He was married to Joanna Abbott, and they had at least three children - Grover (d.1873), William P. (b.1877) and Pauline V. (b. 1883).
His post-war career was as a conductor for the West Jersey and Seashore Railroad Company.
