Daughter of James Love WATERS and Margaret Elizabeth CISNEY. Second wife and widow of Thomas Bruce APPLEBY.
Mrs Kathryn Appleby, a former resident of Burnt Cabins, died at Carlisle on Friday monring, March 15, 1963 she was 93. The deceased was born in Burnt Cabins on Nov. 27, 1869, a daughter of James and Margaret (Cisney) Waters. Her husband, T. B. Appleby, preceded her in death. Mrs Appleby was a member of the Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, Neelyton. She spent most of her life in the Burnt Cabins area. She is survived by two stepsons: Fred B. Appleby of Mount Union and L.P. Appleby of Los Angeles, Calif. Two brothers, James Waters of Lewistown and Porter Waters of Burnt Cabins also survive, along with a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Burnt Cabins Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Robert Rhoades, pastor of the church, will officiate and interment will be made in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Shade Gap. Friends will be received at the church from 1 p.m. Monday until the hour for the service.
