Jennie was the first wife of John V. Foster. They had two daughters, both born in Jasper County Illinois. Blanch was a babe-in-arms when her parents decided to move to near Sheridan Oregon in Yamhill County. Jennie's mother-in-law Mary "Polly" Trexler Foster, also of Jasper County, went to Oregon with John and Jennie. Widow Polly was going to keep house for her son Tom in Tillamook County. John, Jennie & Blanch had a very difficult first year(1882). They returned to Illinois in 1883. On 10 Oct 1884. Jennie has daughter Oma Pearl Foster. Polly Foster returned to Illinois in 1884.
