Actor and Entertainer. Born James Hugh Smith in Bedford Park, Illinois, he guest starred in episodes of "Hawaii Five-O" and "Magnum P.I.". He also made a cameo appearance in the 1968 Steve McQueen movie, "Bullitt". Jim is probably best remembered as Mr. Checkers on the popular Hawaiian children's show, "Checkers & Pogo". The series ran from 1967 to 1982 and was broadcast on Hawaii's CBS affiliate, KGMB-TV.
