Olympic Canoeing Champ. He won Olympic gold medalsfor Hungary in doubles competition at the 1996 Atlanta Games and singles competition at the 2000 Sydney games. He also won a bronze medal in doubles at Atlanta and a bronze medal doubles at the 2004 Athens Games. He was training for his fifth Olympics with his long time doubles partner Gyorgy Kozman, when he collapse in his canoe and died of a probable heart attack.
