Ralph H. Absolom, 86, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, Texas 79174-0001.
Ralph was born May 17, 1920, in Selkirk, Ontario, Canada. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of six years having served in World War II. In 1953, he moved to Fort Worth from Buffalo, N.Y., with Bell Helicopter, where he was employed for 36 years and retired in 1985 as a simulation hardware engineer. He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and former member and Sunday school teacher at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.
Survivors: Wife of 63 years, Dorothy Absolom of Hurst; son, Ronald L. Absolom and wife, Jan, of Carrollton; daughters, Cheryl McCormack of Wylie and Karen Bailes and husband, Larry, of North Richland Hills; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Glenn H. Absolom of Syracuse, N.Y.
