- Born in Northumberland, PA., he had lived in Newark, NJ for 31 years before moving to Cranford, NJ in 1955.
He had been employed for 27 years with P. Ballantine & Sons Brewery in Newark, then with Midland Ross Electrical Company in Livingston, NJ, retiring in 1976.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, earning a Bronze Star for his participation in the Battle of the Bulge, also involved in the liberation of Dachau Concentration Camp.
He was a member of the Ukrainian-American Veterans Post 6, Irvington, NJ, and a member of the former First Ukrainian Presbyterian Church in Irvington.
