"Mrs. Frances James, wife of deputy sheriff M.H. James,died last Saturday morning in the 41st year of her age. She was a great sufferer, having been called to her bed for five months. She was buried in the Baptist Cemetery at Bellville. The bereaved husband and motherless children have the sympathy of friends."

Update: in December 2013 Mary Frances McNeese's great-grandson Michael Peters went to the cemetery mentioned in the obituary and reports that all that is left is depressions in the ground.
