** In Loving Memory of Greg **
Greg will be loved, missed very much and be remembered forever our hearts. Greg was a wonderful Son, Nephew, Cousin, Best Friend and so much more. Greg graduated from Robbinsdale High School, Robbinsdale MN, Class of 1966. Greg worked many Detective, Security Positions. Greg worked as Security Manager at Kmart in Blaine, Lake St So. Mpls, Snelling & Como Ave St. Paul locations. He worked security for other agencies too. Greg did some detective or security work in the Loring Park Mpls area early in his career.
Greg was proactive regarding crime
prevention issues & needs and promoting
community safety. Greg was Head of Security
at the huge South Mpls Cedar Square West
Apts before he passed away. It was the tall
building complex in the West Bank Mpls
area that has the different multi colored
windows panels easily seen from a long
distance overlooking Downtown Mpls.
Greg shared many of his life adventures
about his work. He had many interesting
work related experiences. Greg really
enjoyed it when his friend worked at
KTel Records and he purchased much
music. He enjoyed going to see friends
who played in Bands around the Twin Cities
Metro area. Greg preceded Delores in death.
Greg's passing away so unexpectedly was
especially heartbreaking for Delores.
( and for the many family and friends who
loved Greg) Greg adored both his Parents.
Delores was a Widow for a long time. Greg
was very close to his Mother Delores
and a great son. Greg was the only
child of Delores and Ted. Delores always
welcomed Greg's friends into her home.
This writer spent much time with Delores,
when Greg visited with her and after
Greg passed away. Greg often spent
time with his Mother visiting,
playing cards, helping her. Delores
was a joy to spend time with. Delores
continued to welcome Greg's Friends to
spend time with her after Greg passed
away. Delores enjoyed sharing our
cherished memories of Greg.
It was heartbreaking for all who knew
Greg when he passed away. Delores talked
about Greg and his beloved Dad Theodore
( Ted) often. Greg loved his Family and
his Friends. Greg passed away unexpectedly
as a young adult in his sleep at his
apartment after a lifetime of child onset
diabetes medical issues. Greg loved music
and was active with his many friends.
Greg was that best friend that so many
people admired. He had many good friends.
Greg loved the Mpls Uptown Art Fairs,
cultural activities and was active with
his good friends band. Greg had some
medically related issues due to his
diabetes but nothing going on
he was aware of that would indicate
any immediate life threatening
issues. He was always concerned about
eating right, living right, taking
his insulin, following his doctors
advice and was informed about
potential medical issues back then.
Greg expressed concerns about long
term health risks with childhood
onset diabetes. Greg shared
a nice two bedroom apartment
in the North Mpls area suburbs
with a good friend. Greg had
just visited at his apt with
another lifetime best friend
the same day before he passed
away. Greg told his friend
during their visit that wasn't
feeling well earlier in the day
he passed away so unexpectedly.
Greg was always upbeat,
enthusiastic about life
and was eager to live his life
to the fullest the short
time he was with us. Greg was an
inspiration for others. It is an
honor to have known Greg and to
continue to celebrate his life
and our fond memories of him.
Greg always talked about his many
good memories about all his Family
and many friends. Greg grew up in a
home in a North Mpls suburb.
(Robbinsdale MN) Greg and Delores
used to talk about their good neighbors.
One of their next door neighbors they
knew well was a doctor. Delores
eventually sold their family home
and got an apt in the N. Mpls suburbs.
Greg and Delores kept in contact with
their life long friends. After Greg
had passed away Delores starting
having problems walking, felt stiff,
etc. She called her doctor friend.
She eventually got diagnosed with
Parkinsons. Del was having problems
getting up from her couch, walking
around the grocery store, etc.
This writer and other family,
friends helped Del after Greg
passed away. Del never complained
but was noticing progressive symptoms.
Initially the Parkinsons came on
slow, but toward the end of her
life she had some major medical
issues. She couldn't live alone
anymore. Approx. 2 yrs or so Prior
to her death, Delores moved from her
metro area apt to Mt. Olivet Care
Home on Lyndale Ave in S. Mpls due to
progressive medical issues with
Parkinsons. Delores loved to share
her cherished fond memories of Greg
and Ted. As ill as she was, she
enjoyed talking about her two
favorite men, Greg and his Dad
Ted. She missed them both very
much. It appears that Greg inherited
a combination of both of his Parents
wonderful attributes. Del especially
enjoyed our visits at the Care Center
when writer brought along a little
Sheltie dog. She was so very kind with
animals as was Greg. Greg is missed
by all who knew him. Delores was very
loved by all and is very missed too.
Greg was a fine young man. Greg
was that honest, outgoing, mannerly,
bright, funny, hard working, clean
cut, pleasant, down to earth wonderful
friend, that everyone liked and
we all valued, loved and respected.
Greg was very smart, witty, social
and he had a great sense of humor.
Greg was kind, compassionate and humble.
Greg was a big guy with a big heart.
Greg was a gentleman. His Parents,
Family and Friends were very proud of him.
Greg is remembered fondly by all who
knew him and will be remembered forever.
Greg left us with our cherished memories
of him. As of 2016, Greg's friends
still talk about him. Greg impacted
all our lives in so many positive ways.
