Birth: 1787
Maryland, USA
Death: unknown, USA

Denton Summers and his first wife Mary Summers (maiden name Thompson) married possibly sometime before 1814.

Denton Summers and his second wife Ann "Annie" Summers (maiden name Carpenter) married on 23 December 1852 in Noble County, Ohio, United States of America. Together the couple had a son Elijah A. Somers (18 December 1854 - 20 March 1922), a son Elisha Summers (1 May 1855 - 14 March 1922), and a daughter Rhuhama "Ruamy" Summers (about 1859 - ?).

Denton Summers was 63 years of age and living in Somerset, Belmont County, Ohio at the time of the 1850 United States Census, possibly as a boarder in the household of Hammond Riggs and Jane Riggs.

Do you know him by another name? The surname (last name) Summers is a variation of Somers, and some descendants and relatives of Denton Summers are shown in various records as having their surnames spelled either way. Several possible explanations exist for the different spellings, but the exact reason or reasons is not known with certainty at this point. Therefore, Denton Summers may be shown in some records as Denton Somers.
