Loretta J. Cain, 88, Peru, passed away at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at her home. She was born in Peru on February 10, 1919 to Harry and Elva Wolf. She married John Cain in 1942, and he preceded her in death.
Loretta was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, Psi Iota Xi, Democrat Ladies, Eastern Starr, The Elkets, and volunteered as a pink lady at Dukes Memorial Hospital.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Survivors include a son, Peter Cain, Peru; a daughter, Margaret "Missy" Watkins and husband Steven, Wabash; a sister-in-law, Theresa Reece; grandchildren laura Maley, Jennie O'Shaughnessy and Stephanie O'Shaughnessy; and a great-grandson, Ayden Maley.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband and five sisters: Helen Millholland, Catherine Beard, Mary Rehm, Ruth Wolf, and Nellie Volpert.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, Peru. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Love offerings can be made to the family through the funeral home.
