Adaline G. Townsend Hulce, widow of the late Jesse P. Hulce died at the age of 79 in Peru, Miami County, Indiana at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. E. Howard, No. 312 West Main Street, Thursday morning at 3:30 o'clock. She succumbed to valvular heart trouble. The aged lady's last illness extended back over a period of about six months. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Rogers) Townsend and was born at Piqua, Ohio, December 24, 1848, being at her death aged eighty years, four months, and twenty-eight days. She had seven siblings: James W. Townsend (1843-1893), Eveline Ellen Townsend (1846-?), Elijah E. She moved with her family as a small girl to Harrison, Union County, Indiana about 1850. She married Jesse Perchle Hulce or sometimes spelled Hulse in Hooverville, Cass County, Indiana on April 21, 1865 at the age of 21. To their union they had three children: Ida Della Hulce Howard, with whom she lived the last years of her life (1867-1934), Robert Omer Hulce (1872-1957), and Harriette Elizabeth "Hattie" Hulce Anderson (1877-1938).

Five grandchildren survive her also, as do a brother and sister, Elijah Townsend and Mrs. Almeda Dillman. She had lived in Peru for sixty years, coming here when a young woman.

The deceased was a member of the Baptist denomination. The funeral services will be held at the U. B. Church this (Saturday) afternoon at 2'o'clock. The services have been charged to Rev. M. S. Livengood and Rev. Dr. Nyce, and interment will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Peru, Miami County, Indiana.
