Ann C Ellis Haman; 82 Oct. 09, 1933 Aug. 18, 2016 It is with sorrow and sadness we share the passing of our mother, Ann C. Haman on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016 with her three children by her side showing the same care she always gave us. She is now with our father (Don) for eternity. Our Mother, Ann was born in Portland, on October 9,1933 to John and Evelyn Ellis. She was the third of four children, sister Helen, brother David and younger brother John. Growing up, she attended Couch Elementary School and Girls Polytechnic High School graduating in 1951. She married Don Haman her sweetheart in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, in 1953 they moved to Spokane, Wash. for a short time and later returned to Portland. Our mother LOVED her home and family. Especially tending to her garden, she developed her skills in gardening with great design and tremendous color and beauty of which she was very proud. She sewed our Easter outfits especially with our memories of pins left in garments during our final fittings. She was also a great teacher of the Bible, reading to us nightly and praying for our family and others in need. She was very instrumental in emphasizing the love shown to us by Jesus Christ. She would remind us always to treat other people as we would like to be treated. Our mother was a faithful servant of God until the very end. Her Bible had these words of encouragement written in the front "You cannot change the truth but you can allow it to change you". Her greatest honor in her entire life was family and faith. She is survived by her children and two brothers; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered by many other friends and family whose lives she touched. Her Memorial Service will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016 at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Following the service we will have time for family and friends at Milwaukie Covenant Church located at 12201 SE Linwood Avenue in Milwaukie. .
