Darrell Alvin Meyer, resident of Boring, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Hopewell House in Portland. He was 61.
Darrell was born March 9, 1950, in Portland to Lester and Esther (Sharer) Meyer. He was raised and educated in the Gresham and Troutdale areas.
On May 28, 2005, he married Londa Thomas in Reno, Nevada. They made their home in White City. In 2009, Darrell moved to Boring to be near his mother.
Darrell worked various jobs throughout his life. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson with his dog Charlie, racing dirt bikes, and watching and attending NASCAR races, drag races, attending car shows, restoring cars and boating. He was a "jack of all trades" guy and was talented in so many areas. He had a passion for animals and was a supporter of no-kill shelters.
Survivors include his wife; mother, of Boring; daughter, Dawn Meyer of Beaverton; son, Cameron Meyer of Washington, D.C.; sisters, Beverly Melton of Boring and Barbara Erazo of Salem; and three grandchildren.
Cremated, Ashes given to family or friend.
