Kay was born January 4, 1946 in San Angelo, Texas to William and Jewell Thompson Chappell. She passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at her home in Eakly, Oklahoma after a long illness.

She grew up in Depew, Oklahoma and later moved to Eakly. She graduated Eakly High School in 1963.

She was united in marriage to Floyd Clifford King on June 7, 1963, and they made their home in Eakly. To this union four children were born. She was a homemaker and a stay at home mom, who helped raise numerous children; mothering them all. She enjoyed her family, cooking and woodworking.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford King, two brothers: Robert Chappell and Steven Ray Brewer; her father William Chappell and her mother-in-law, Lola King.

She is survived by one son, Justin Clifford King and his wife Stephanie of Quantico, Virginia.
Three daughters: Leslie Dawn Riffle and husband Michael of Tallahassee, Florida, Valerie LeAnne King of Eakly, Oklahoma and Marla Strack and husband Brandon of Hydro, Oklahoma.
Her mother Jewell Brewer of Bristow, Oklahoma
Ten Grandchildren: Heather Groves, Meagan King, Michael Riffle Jr., Ryan Riffle, Kaitlyn Brown, Kaitlyn Strack, Madison Riffle, Landon Brown, Grace King and Bradley Strack.

Also surviving are her siblings: Brad Brewer of Bristow, Oklahoma, Sharon Wilson and husband Steve of Pawnee, and Billie LaSyone of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; her father-in-law, Floyd King of Eakly, Oklahoma and many other relatives and friends.
