Chaves County

Death: Jan. 20, 1994
Maricopa County

J.D., the son of Leonard Rush "L.R." Hamrick (1885-1952) and Permelia Angaline "Mealy" Dennis (1889-1965), was born in Roswell, New Mexico. A paternal uncle was named Joseph David so it is possible he was a namesake, but the records avaialable all recorded the initials "J.D." During WWII he enlisted in the NAVY, enlisting March 29, 1943 and serving until he was released from duty on December 17, 1945. On May 22, 1948, J.D. married Erma Francis Denney (1931-1994), the daughter of William Thomas Denney (1894-1938) and Clara Mae Higley (1916-2001). The couple had five children including Jimmy Dean who died at birth. All the Hamrick boys learned carpentry from their father, but Carpentry was J.D.'s lifelong profession. He died in Superior, Arizona, on January 20, 1994 at the age of 69. At the time of his death he was survived by his wife Erma, his four remaining children Donna Jay, Leonard Rush, Dennis Doyle,
Eunice Marie and his brother, Don.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice and for the family you gave me! Resting where no shadows fall, in peaceful sleep he awaits all; God will link the broken chain, when one by one all meet again.
