William H. Dunbar of Maple Drive dies at eighty-two.
William H. Dunbar, 82, of Maple Dr., Randolph, formerly of Little Valley, died Sunday, June 13, 1993, in WCA Hospital Jamestown.
He was born Jan. 28, 1911, in Springville, a son of Emmons and Nettie Rust Dunbar.
Mr. Dunbar married the former Alice Morgan tilden on June 29, 1937, who died in 1975.
He was a manager of the James H. Gray Milling Company, Little Valley. He was a court officer of Cattaraugus County for three years and a member of Masonic Lodge of Little Valley, the village and school boards of Little Valley, a former mayor of Little Valley, a charter member of the Elkdale Country Club, and a member of First Congregational Church of Little Valley.
He was a 1929 graduate of Little Valley Central School, from the University of Maryland in 1933, and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.
Surviving are four daughters, Mary Elizabeth Dunbar of Ellicottville, Susan Shaw of Rochester, Betsy Carone of Randolph and Sally Westbrook of Hammondsport; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Olive Velie of Ellicottville and Ruth Morris of Ventura, California.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary C. Dunbar.
The funeral was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, in Mentley Funeral Home, Little Valley. Burial was in Little Valley Rural Cemetery. A masonic service was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Randolph Rescue Squad or Little Valley Library.
