HELP would be appreciated-Asenath has been reported as born in 1769 per Lloyd Cartwright. He did not give any indication of her parents. There's also an Asenath, daughter of Consider Tanner and Rachel Benedict, with a birth year of 1775 listed in a register book at the town hall in Cornwall, CT. Since Consider and Rachel were married in 1772, the birth year of 1775 makes sense for their Asenath. But if this was the Asenath who married Bailey she would have been 14 when she got married, which doesn't quite seem right. Does anyone out there have records that can help shed light on this? Was there another Asenath born in 1769, and if so who are her parents? Does anyone know where Lloyd found her birth as 1769? I've TENTATIVELY linked Consider and Rachel as the parents of Asenath who married Bailey, but questions remain.
We welcome any sketches or portraits that can be found of Asenath and Bailey.
Asenath married Bailey Cartwright on June 24, 1789. They were early settlers in Batabiakill in the Roxbury area. Both are buried at Vega, New York. The children of Bailey and Asenath are:
Almerin b.1799, married Phoebe (Morse);
Samuel b. Nov. 10, 1800, married Clarissa (Earl). She is buried at Vega (111676268) so Samuel probably is also. Clarissa died before Samuel;
Eber b. 1802, married Polly Mary(Ganoung);
Frederick b. 1808, married Anna (Morse);
Lucinda b.1814?, who married Hosea Mead;
Olive b. 1822 (passed just before turning 17).
