George Elton Anderson, 80, of Butler died Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born March 12, 1925, in Penn Township, he was the son of the late George M. Anderson and Ruth (Maharg) Anderson.
He worked in the combustion department at Armco Steel for 33 years. He was a member of the Middlesex Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder and deacon, and taught vacation Bible school.
He was the vice president of the M.O.R.A. club, and was involved with the Boy Scouts for 50 years. He also achieved a 50-year voter award.
Surviving are his wife; two sons; a brother; a sister; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three stepchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Velma Jean Anderson on March 16, 1996; and a brother.
ANDERSON - Friends of George Elton Anderson, who died Saturday, March 19, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the FOX FUNERAL HOME INC., 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Middlesex Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Kevin M. Bowen officiating. Interment will follow at Summit Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to PARC or Middlesex Presbyterian Church.
