Daughter of Jesse William & Mary E. S. McConnell Bollough. Annie married a Union soldier, Reuben Hawley, a native of Orleans Co., NY. After the death of her father and with tensions between family members because of her marriage to a Union soldier, Annie & Reuben moved back to Orleans Co., NY where they had at least 7 known children. They were Jessie (male), George Paschal, Rufus, Mary, infant Hawley born 9 Jan 1881 in the Orleans County Poor House, died ?, Lillie Mae and perhaps one more yet unknown child. By the mid 1880's the family moved to Bay City, Michigan where Reuben/Rubin died on 9 Jun 1897. Annie came back to see her sister, Ellen Bollough Baker Meeks on Sullivan's Island; her first return home since leaving in the 1880's; and died just before Christmas, age "about 80". Her niece's husband, Louis N. Moore (husband of Rosa Baker Moore and son in law of Ellen Bollough Baker Meeks) bought the coffin from McAlister Funeral Home of Charleston and did the burial himself in the island cemetery.
