Son of Reuben Hyde & Polly Hammond Hyde. Father of Mary Ella Hyde Williams & Mason E. Hyde. Died in Summerhill Township. He was a Civil War Veteran, serving as a Musician with his Uncle Marcus Hammon in McLean's Erie Regiment Company D in 1861 & then the 145th PAV Company K in 1862. Later he served in the PA National Guard 15th Infantry Company C as a Musician from 1871 to 1880.
