Willie J. Ayala, 12, of Momence, died Saturday (Nov. 5, 2011) at his residence. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Cotter Funeral Home, Momence. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Momence. The Rev. John Peeters will officiate.

Interment will be in Mexico. Memorials may be made to the family wishes.

He was born Aug. 6, 1999, in Kankakee, the son of Jesus J. and Maria Mercedes Ramirez Ayala. He was in the sixth grade at Momence Junior High School, where he was an honor roll student, and a member of the band and the sixth-grade boys basketball team.

Surviving are his parents, of Momence; three brothers, Jonathon, Diego and Christopher Ayala, all of Momence; one sister, Dulce Ayala, of Momence; paternal grandfather, Otilio Ayala, of Momence; and maternal grandparents, Sabino and Maria Ramirez, of Mexico.

Willie passed away in a house fire at the family home.
