FRAZEYSBURG - Sandy E. Ashcraft, 71, of Nashport, died Friday evening, May 9, 2008, at the Newark Health Care Centre.
Born Feb. 5, 1937, in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Glenn and Mrs. Alberta Viedt Biddle and was a 1956 graduate of Newark High School. She was employed by Newark Health Care Centre for 17 years as a receptionist. Mrs. Ashcraft was a member of the Marne United Methodist Church. Sandy's life was fulfilled and enriched with God's love and his grace.
Surviving is her husband, Ray E. Ashcraft, whom she married Nov. 2, 1956; two sons, Chester Ashcraft of Pasadena, Texas and Jeffrey Ashcraft of Palm Springs, Calif.; one daughter, Tami Ashcraft of Nashport; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Alan (Sharon) Biddle of Indianapolis, Ind.; an aunt, Caryl Biddle of Leesburg, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenny Ashcraft.
Sandy's family wants to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Newark Health Care Centre and Hospice of Central Ohio. Each provided such wonderful care and comfort in Sandy's end of life days. And to Sheri Webb, her guardian angel while at Newark Heath Care, many thanks.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 12, at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
A celebration of Sandy's life will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at the Marne United Methodist Church, 1019 Licking Valley Road, NE, Newark, Ohio 43055 with the Rev. Gus Christobaker officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Marne United Methodist Church Food Pantry, in care of the church or to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark.
