|Birth: ||1739, France|
The Burgamy family is of French descent. There were 2 brothers, John and William, who came to America from France before the American Revolution as Spies, under General Elija Clarke. Both were captured by the British at the siege of Augusta, Ga. September, 1780.
William succeeded in making his escape. John and 28 other American soldiers were executed by the British in a very cruel manner.
