Mrs. Hughes was a native of Memphis, Tennessee, a former resident of the North Augusta-Beech Island area, having made Lincolnton her home for the past 27 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Lincolnton Women's Methodist Guild.
Survivors include two sons, Robert K. Hughes, Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Richard W. Hughes, Augusta; two sisters, Emily Jane Browning, Ecru, Miss., and Georgia Hollingsworth, Memphis, Tenn.; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., or at the residence of Mr. Richard W.Hughes, 2016 Autumn Chase, Augusta, Ga. Memorials may be made to the Lincoln County Library, P.O. Box 310, Lincolnton, Ga.
