CHARLES F. BROOME
Owner and operator of a shoe repair shop on N. 3rd Street for 40 years, Charles F. Broome, 63, of 1037 N. 5th, died at 5 a.m. today in Lawrence County General Hospital. He had been a patient there since Tuesday after being stricken ill at his home.
Mr. Broome an ardent hunter and owner of several hunting dogs, was born in Ironton on January 4, 1889. He was the son of the late John and Katherine Caine Broom.
He attended West Ironton School and was the last member of his immediate family He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and Frank Broome.
Surviving are three nieces, Mrs. Ralph (Lorna) Waldo of Columbus, Mrs. Bernard (Lenora) McGucken of Ironton, and Mrs. Paul (Irma) Sites of Jackson.
Rev. Homer Click performed the funeral services with interment in Woodland Cemetery.
