Birth: Nov. 29, 1918
Lamerton
Alberta, Canada
Death: Oct. 6, 2012
Vineland
Ontario, Canada

He has gone to join his beloved wife Frankie. Born on the farm near Lamerton, Alberta, Marty was the youngest of ten children. After years on the farm he joined the R.C.A.F. and served as an Air Bomber in the 427th Squadron during the Second World War. Following the war he went to agricultural college and met his future wife Frankie. He worked with the Veteran's Land Act in Alberta, then in 1966 moved from Edmonton to Chatham where he worked for the Farm Credit Corporation until his retirement in 1980. Marty had three passions outside of his family. The first was music: he played trumpet and other instruments in his early years and loved to listen to the classics or sing a beloved hymn in his deep bass voice. His second was his garden where he spent many happy hours coaxing the best out of his roses. His strongest passion was his faith.
