Born possibly in Sadki Poland or in Posen, he married Josepha Boinska February 20,1870. They had one or two children in Poland, then emigrated to the US about 1872. The family settled in Manitowoc, Wisconsin for a few years, then relocated to Chicago about 1879. Ignatius was a carpenter much of his life in the US. Our family story says he arrived wearing a tophat and coat, possibly suggesting some wealth. The family lived at 6149 South Whipple St in Chicago for many years.
