John was a Philadelphia sports fanatic. His father also passed down a love for the Boston Red Sox, a love which he was proud to pass down as well. He enjoyed visiting different baseball stadiums; Fenway Park being one of his favorite places in the world.
John is survived by his sons and their wives: Kevin and Cristin Wittwer of Murfreesboro, TN and Jeffrey and Jamie Wittwer of Turnersville, N; two siblings and their spouses: Elizabeth and Wayne Croce, and Glenn and Elizabeth Wittwer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and by two grandchildren: Eli Wittwer and an unborn granddaughter.
A service will be held at Centenary United Methodist Church: 149 South White Horse pike, Berlin, NJ on Tuesday, December 3 at 7:00 PM. Internment will be private.
John loved his family and enjoyed sharing his home. A follower of Christ, even as he has been unable to attend church in recent years due to the decline in his health and mobility. Now he can rest in the eternal home Jesus has prepared for John.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to family and friends who have offered so many kindnesses at this time of loss, to those who have come today, and to all who have offered memorials to John. Arrangements were entrusted to Leroy Wooster Funeral Home, Atco, NJ.
