Myrna L. Addington, 75, of Scotia, N.Y., passed away on Sunday June 30, 2013, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, after a short illness.

Born on March 6, 1938 in Bath, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late A. Reid Heliker and Vivian (nee: Owen Heliker) Petersen. Moving with her family to Pennsylvania as a young child, Myrna was raised and educated in Sayre, attending Sayre High School.She later married and moved to Scotia, N.Y., with her former husband, Daryl Addington, and was a lifelong area resident.

Myrna held various jobs throughout her life until going to work for CVS Pharmacy in Scotia, where she worked for many years until her retirement in 2005.

Survivors include her beloved companion, Frank Culligan; her three sons, Kevin (Doreen) Addington of Scotia, David (Debbie) Addington of Schenectady and Christopher (Ellen) Addington of Amsterdam; her sister, Sandra Heliker Murrelle of Sayre; six grandchildren, Kayla, Jesse, Kara, Rebecca, Codie and Kaci Addington; three step granddaughters, Rosemary (Michael), Rebecca (Todd) and Amy (Scott); eight step great-grandchildren; an aunt, Alvera Owen; three nephews, Greg (Michelle), Gary and Glenn (Amy) Murrelle; and her extended Culligan family, Maureen (Rick) Mathews and Frank (Janice), Timothy (Edith) and David (Angela) Culligan and their children.

Besides her parents she was also predeceased by a brother, James Taylor.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m., at the White Funeral Home, 264 N. Ballston Ave., Scotia. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie. The family will receive relatives and friends tonight from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
