Bonnie Mozel Allen Former Resident of Concord Bonnie Mozel Allen, longtime resident of Concord, will be remembered and honored at a "Celebration of Her Life" Service on Saturday July 9, at 11am at the Concord United Methodist Church, 1645 West St., Concord. Bonnie believed in dancing to her own life song all of her 86 year journey. On May 14 she let God lead the way home to be with her loving family members, including her parents, Opal and William Waldrip; her husband, Kermit Lt Col Army, her sisters, Rachel and Billie Clarke; brother, Donald; and daughter, Darlene. Bonnie was born on October 4, 1924. A Texas transplant to here in Concord, where she resided for over 50 years. Just recently she moved herself to South Carolina. Besides her family, her passion was the creation of fashion. She was an artistic seamstress, and passed that artistry along to others. She was instrumental in starting the Holbrook Heights 4-H Club. She taught sewing at the Lafayette Sewing Center, the Stone Mountain and Daughter in Berkeley, as well as at her studio at home. She spent many hours organizing fashion shows such as "Remember Love" for the Alzheimer's Association She was also a member of the Association of Fashion Professionals. Her husband, Kermit was the principal of Bay Point School in Port Chicago for many years. Survived by daughters, Pamela and husband Lowery Hall, Penny and husband Bobby Brady, son, Roger and wife Carol Allen; 5 grandchildren, Angela Brown, Reta Hierholzer, Leslie Hall, Brittany McCarthy and Ryan Allen; 7 great grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Jaydel, Willene and Deborah, and many nieces and nephews.
