Funeral Set Monday For Albert Barnett
Funeral services for Albert S. Barnett, 87, of 4325 Larchmont, for whom the new Barnett Tower at Baylor Medical Plaza will be named upon completion in 1974, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in Chapel East of Hillcrest Mausoleum. Entombment will follow.
Barnett, a native of Dalton, Ga., who had lived in Dallas most of his life, died her Friday.
Barnett started his business career in cotton with Major Clever & co., and later formed his own firm, The A. S. Barnett Co. In 1941, he sold out of the cotton business and became involved in oil and investments.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dallas and had long been active in work for the denomination in Texas. The decision to name the medical center tower in his honor was in recognition of his church work.
