Llewellyn Bennette Bass (Mrs. Jarman) passed away on August 28, 1998 after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Conroe, Montgomery County, Texas on March 12, 1922, the daughter of Morgan O. and Bettie R. Bennette, long time residents of the area, now deceased.

She is survived by her husband, Jarman Bass, daughters Bettie B. Vandivort and her husband William B., Beverly B. Childs and her husband Alfred B., three grandchildren Paul J. Childs, Mark K. Childs, and Cheri Vandivort Harper and great granddaughter Clara Michelle Harper. Also surviving are her brother, J. O. Howard Bennette and his wife Virginia of Conroe, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Llewellyn was educated in the Conroe public schools and later attended Mary Hardin Baylor College in Belton and the Houston Museum of Art.

Before her wedding in 1949, she was employed in Houston in the banking and petroleum industries.

During her married life she resided in Houston, Austin, Dallas, Chicago, and Geneva, Switzerland.

She was an active member of Park Cities Baptist Church and the Northwood Club. She was briefly active in the American Women's Club of Geneva, and she was for many years active in the CPA Wives Club of Dallas.

A private, family only interment will precede a memorial service in Ellis Chapel of Park Cities Baptist Church at 11 AM on on day, August 31, 1998 with Dr. Robert O. Feather and Dr. Jim Denison officiating.

Those wishing to greet the family may do so following the service in the Ellis Chapel parlor.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be sent to Baylor University Development, Box 97026, Waco, Texas, 76798-7026 or to a charity of choice.

A faithful, loving wife, accomplished homemakers, devoted mother and grandmother, and a steadfast friend, she is already sorely missed by man.

"And He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there shall no longer be any death; there shall no longer by any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away." Revelations 21:4
