Cynthia A. Woodward
SMITHSBURG, Md. - Cynthia Ann "Cindy" Woodward, 39, of 23409 Ringgold
Pike Smithsburg, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at the home of her
parents.
Born May 8, 1964, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of George A. and
Nellie L. Barnes Bachtell of Hagerstown.
She graduated from Smithsburg High School, class of 1982.
She was employed by Doubleday Co. and Village Spirits, both in
Smithsburg, and the Motor Vehicle Administration in Hagerstown and
Frederick, Md., for 20 years.
She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Chewsville and the
Ladies Auxiliary of South Mountain Rod and Gun Club of Smithsburg.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 22 years,
Dean J. Woodward, whom she married Aug. 15, 1981; two daughters, Kimberly
Ann Woodward and Kathleen May Woodward, both at home; brothers Douglas
and wife Teresa Bachtell and Wayne and wife Patricia Bachtell, all of
Smithsburg, Brian and wife Julie Bachtell of Waynesboro, Pa., Rodney and
wife Kathy Bachtell of Greencastle, Pa., and Donald Bachtell of
Hagerstown; 13 nieces and nephews; four great-nieces; a great-nephew; and
aunts and uncles.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg
with the Rev. John W. Schildt and the Rev. George M. Snyder officiating.
Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral
home.
There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to John R. Marsh
Cancer Center, 11110 Medical Campus Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742, or Bethel
United Methodist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 37, Chewsville, MD
21721.
The funeral home will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
