NORFOLK — Delores F. Bahns, 70, of Norfolk, died April 26, 2011, at Faith Regional Health Services.
Funeral services will be at Westridge United Methodist Church Norfolk. Rev. Cynthia Stewart will officiate.

Delores was born June 11, 1940, in Shoshoni, Wyo. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Dale C. and Myra (Boyer) Armstrong. Delores graduated in 1958 from Aurora High School in Aurora, Colo.
On June 8, 1959, Delores and David A. Bahns, Sr. were married inColorado. After David's discharge from the military they made their home in rural Clarkson. In 1969 Delores and David moved to McPherson, Kan., then to Madison in 1970, followed by moves to Wayne in 1980, Ankeny, Iowa, in 1987 and Lincoln in 1992. After the death of her husband in June 1997, Delores relocated to rural Norfolk where she resided until her death. Once her children were grown, her love for books and learning lead her to her work as a librarian in Ankeny, Iowa, and later in Madison. Her joy was found in time spent with her family and attending her grandchildren's activities and special events.
Delores is survived by her seven children, David and Tami Bahns, of Fort Collins, Colo., Deborah and Randy Sunderman, of Norfolk, John and Judy Bahns, of Brentwood, Calif., Lorelei and Terry Frederickson, of Ankeny, Iowa, Nancy Bahns, of Des Moines, Iowa, Kristina Bahns, of Bellevue, Samuel and Sara Bahns, of Grimes, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, David Armstrong, of Colorado, and Glenn Armstrong, of Alaska.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David in June of 1997; and one brother, James Armstrong.
