Lynn Wallace Abshere, 66, died Jan. 19 in Albuquerque. No memorial services will be held.
Cremation was under the direction of the Sunrise Society at Vista Verde Mortuary in Albuquerque.
Dr. Abshere was born May 10, 1928, in Fort Cobb, Okla. He served in the U. S. Navy at the end of World War II from 1946-1949. He received his bachelor of science and doctorate of medicine from the University of Oklahoma in 1952 and 1956, respectively. He did his internship at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle from 1956-1957 and his residence in obstetrics/gynecology at the University of Oklahoma from 1957=1960.
he practiced medicine in Clovis from 1961-1988 and moved to Albuquerque in 1989. He was a member of the New Mexico and American medical societies, a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American College of Surgeons, and chief of medical staff while at Plains Medical/Clovis.
Survivors include his wife, Marion Abshere; one son and daughter-in-law, Kim and Frank Maybell; three grandchildren, Seamus, Caitrin and Devin Abshere; two brothers, Marle and Maruice Abshere; and two sisters, Louise Bounds and Dorothy Ballew.
Memorial contributions may be made to Clovis-Carver Public Library.
