WILLIAM GODDARD HARRIS

Funeral services for William Goddard Harris were conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Kemmerer LDS Stake Center. Burial was in the Kemmerer Cemetery.

Harris died Jan. 4, 1993 from complications resulting from a stroke.

He was born to John and Thirza Harris Jan. 12, 1909 in Frontier where he resided until his illness. He married Martha Greenway on June 1, 1935. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in Jan. 1958.

He retired from the Kemmerer Coal Company where he was employed for 48 years Jan. 1, 1976. He was an active member of the LDS Church serving as second counselor in the bishopric, high priest group leader, executive secretary and various other callings. He and Martha were called to service mission for the LDS Church as name extractors in the genealogy program. He was preceded in death by his parents and 12 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Martha and three children; Ronald L. Kaysville, Utah, William Jr. of Berthoud, Colo., Kay Hartwell of Sandy, Utah; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
