Mr. Leo Page, 72, died in a Sioux Falls hospital on Nov. 14, 1969. Leo is first born son of Eugene J. and Emma Humphrey Page.

His actual birth date is July 7, 1898 at Dell Rapids SD. Leo changed his birth year to enlist in the army during World War 1.

He married Miriam Carr on June 15, 1921 at Watertown SD.

He lived and farmed in Graceland Township for 38 years and also lived in Clark County at one time. He served in the U.S. Army in World War I and was member of the American Legion post at Henry SD.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Watertown. After his retirement from farming, he worked at the Watertown Cement Products Company. Later, he worked for the Soil Conservation Service.

Survivors include his widow, Miriam; his mother, Mrs. Emma Page, Colton: Four daughters, Mrs. Duane (Carol) Monteith, Brookings; Mrs. Keith (Donna Mae) Arbogast, Watertown; Mrs. Edward (Joyce) Olson, Watertown;Mrs. Earl (Leone)Olson, Aberdeen;
Five sons: Glen, Seattle, WA; Virgil, Colton;
Vern, Fairchance, PA; Gene and William, rural Henry; Four sisters: Mrs. Zoe Farrand, Superior, NE; Mrs. Faye Fossy, Rapid City, SD; Mrs. Ray Hawks, Fairfield, CA; Ruby Page, Canistota SD;
Two brothers: Ordell, Colton; and Eugene Page Jr, Box Elder, SD: 30 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene; in 1942, one sister,Ruth in 1900 and one brother, Peter in 1954.

Pallbearers will be six grandsons, Curtis, Jerry and Dale Page, Jeff and Douglas Arbogast and Steven Monteith.

Services were held Tuesday, November 18, 1969 at 2pm in the First Baptist Church in Watertown with Rev. Robert E. Davis officiating. Graveside rites will be by the American Legion Post of Henry.

A family devotion was held at 1:40pm in the church parlors preceding the funeral.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery with Shaw-Messer Funeral Chapel in Watertown SD.
