Donald Glenn Baker, 85, of Springfield, Mo., and Murphysboro area, passed away at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, in Swedish American Health System in Rockford.
Donald was born March 13, 1927, in Sparta, to Ralph Baker and Concordia (Palisch) Baker.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, and he was a member of VFW Post 2952 in Springdale, Ark.
Mr. Baker had worked at the J. I. Case Company and Bass Pro Shop.
He married Margaret A. (Jones) Baker, and she preceded him in death March 24, 1971. He then married Margaret Lee Padgett in 1972, and she preceded him in death June 15, 2012.
Survivors include two daughters, Kim Swartz of Rockford and Susan Foster of Mendota; and two stepsons, James Padgett of Ozark, Mo., and Dennis Padgett of Republic, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and his twin sister, Delores O'Guinn of Murphysboro.
He was preceded in death by two sisters; and two brothers.
