Janie was the wife of Raymond Dunn and much-loved mother of Stonewall James (Stoney) Ellis, Melba Lewis Gordon, Beverly Lewis Sargent, and granddaughter Courtney M. Ellis.

She is remembered as a devoted wife and mother, a trusted friend, a great cook, a highly skilled seamstress, a dedicated Girl Scout leader and volunteer, an avid football fan, a valued employee, and an expert fisher-woman! She enjoyed her family and friends, making all feel special.

After leaving a career at Robins Air Force Base, Warner Robins, GA, to raise her children, she returned to the workforce after their graduations as the office manager/secretary in the Principal's office at Southwest (Ballard B) High School in Macon, GA. She transitioned back to work at Robins AFB as a logistics manager and retired from that position after several years.

Her life was cut short at the age of 69, as rapidly progressing Alzheimer's disease "stole" her from those who loved her. Even as she lived in that confused space, her good will and happiness shone through. She was always smiling and ready to give or receive hugs.

She will be loved, remembered, and missed by all who knew her!
