Billie Faye Carwile, 91, of Big Sandy, was born on Dec. 19, 1923, in Walnut Springs and she left this life peacefully and with the quiet dignity with which she lived on March 11, 2015 in Tyler.

In 1942, Billie Faye graduated from Scott and White Hospital in Temple and began her long career as a registered nurse. In the 1950s she moved to California and was hired by what became the Worldwide Church of God and Ambassador College, and was Herbert Wright Armstrong's personal nurse until his death. Faye returned to Texas in the late 1960s, and settled in the Big Sandy area where she continued to serve many senior citizens until her retirement in 1995.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, James Horatio Carwile and Mary Eula (McAdoo) Carwile; and her two sisters, Martha Beatrice Hicks and Minnie "Kitty" Katherine Bryan; and two nieces, Mary Gay (Hicks) Sanderson and Regenia B Bryan.
Faye was married to Garland "Doby" St Clair Cook and Kenneth Leon Luttrell, both ended in separations with no children.
Faye is survived by her niece, Katrinka Bryan-Thario, of San Diego, California; and two nephews, Michauel Bryan, of San Diego, California, and Alan Warren Hicks, of Fort Worth.
