ROBERT LEE - Birdie Mae Dozier passed away August 6, 2009 at 7:20 p.m. at her son's home in Midland, TX.
Birdie Mae was born in Randolph, LA on December 6, 1912.
She married Felix Dozier on March 5, 1930. To this union was born two children; a son, Felix N. Dozier of Midland and a daughter, Dorothy J. Dozier (Walker) Conrad of San Angelo. She maintained a home while her husband worked several occupations in the oil fields off and on for many years. This involved moving to various places in TX, LA, and NM. At one point they bought a farm and worked that for many more years. Birdie Mae was a devoted, faithful wife and a hard worker all their married life. She was an astonishing woman who made friends wherever she lived and tried to help anyone in need. Being a descendent of the Cherokee Indians (both of her grandmothers were Cherokee), Birdie Mae had the gift of story telling and everyone loved to hear those stories.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Birdie Mae is survived by her son, Felix Dozier; daughter, Dorothy Conrad and son-in-law Henry Conrad; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
