Bernadette L. Biela 1929-2013 CENTERVILLE-

Bernadette L. (Gendreau) "Bernie" Biela, 83, of Centerville, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully of natural causes on January 21, 2013, in her home with family by her side. Bernie is survived by her loving husband Henry Biela. Bernie was born in Hartford, CT. on August 26, 1929. Prior to residing in Centerville, Bernie was a resident of Chicopee, MA and was a 1947 graduate of St. Jerome High School. After her marriage to Henry Biela, they moved to Holyoke and raised their eight children. In June of 1989, Bernie and Henry moved to Centerville.

Bernie was married to Henry J. Biela on January 5, 1952, they just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and especially time spent with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Bernie is survived by her children, Stephen and his wife Lynn, Ann Horn and her husband Michael, Marcel and his wife Emma, James, Lisa Young, Henry Jr. and his wife Beverly, John and his wife Eileen and Joseph and his wife Angela; her twelve grandchildren, Michelle-Lee, Jennifer Horn, Stephanie, Tomas, Sara, Martin, Joseph Jr., Alexandria, Abigayle Young, Jaycob Young, Christopher and Nicholas.

Bernadette is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sister.

The family of Bernadette wishes to thank those who have provided comfort and support to her and Henry during her illness. Especially parishioners of the 7a.m. Mass and the members of the Senior Luncheon at the Our Lady of Victory Parish and to Pastor Mark Hession, for his friendship, support, kindness and compassion.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 24th from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 South Main St., Centerville.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 25th at 11:00 a.m. also in Our Lady of Victory Church followed by burial at 12:45 p.m. in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
